While we have included everything needed for a wonderful week of creativity, culture and Mediterranean relaxation, there are a few items you will need to arrange or budget for separately.

Travelling to Mont Port Hotel & Spa

Mon Port Hotel & Spa is located at Carrer Cala d’Egos 17, Finca La Noria, 07157 Port d’Andratx, Mallorca. The hotel is approximately 500 metres from the picturesque harbour of Port d’Andratx.

Arriving by Plane

Guests should fly into Palma de Mallorca Airport, also known by the airport code PMI.

Private airport transfers can be arranged on request for an additional cost. Taxis are also available from the official rank outside the arrivals terminal. Guests using a taxi should always use the clearly marked airport taxi rank. Palma Airport taxi information.

The journey from Palma Airport to Mon Port Hotel & Spa normally takes approximately 40–50 minutes by car, depending on traffic.

Arriving by Public Transport

From Palma Airport, take the A1 airport bus to central Palma and leave at Plaça d’Espanya. From there, continue to Palma’s Estació Intermodal and take the TIB 101 bus towards Port d’Andratx.

After arriving in Port d’Andratx, complete the short journey to Mon Port Hotel & Spa by local taxi. Walking may also be possible for guests travelling with light luggage. Airport bus information and TIB Route 101.

Public transport is the more economical option, although it will take longer and involves a change in Palma. Guests travelling with large suitcases or embroidery equipment may find a taxi or pre-arranged private transfer more convenient.

Arriving by Car

Guests travelling by hire car should enter the hotel’s full address into their navigation system. From Palma Airport, follow signs towards Palma before joining the Ma-20 and then the Ma-1 in the direction of Andratx and Port d’Andratx.

The hotel provides free private parking for guests, subject to availability.

As bus routes, timetables and road conditions may change before October 2027, guests should check their journey shortly before travelling.

Your home for the retreat will be the four-star Mon Port Hotel & Spa, situated in the exclusive area of Port d’Andratx on Mallorca’s southwest coast. Surrounded by the foothills of the magnificent Serra de Tramuntana and close to the Mediterranean Sea, the hotel combines traditional Mallorcan architectural influences with Mediterranean elegance and modern comforts.

The hotel enjoys a peaceful setting on Finca La Noria, just 500 metres from the picturesque harbour of Port d’Andratx. During your free time, you can wander down to the waterfront, explore its cafés, restaurants and boutiques, admire the boats in the harbour or simply enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of this beautiful coastal community.

Mon Port’s landscaped garden, terraces and outdoor swimming pool provide inviting places to relax in the Mallorcan sunshine. The hotel also has a restaurant, cafeteria, snack bar and piano bar, offering a variety of comfortable spaces in which to enjoy refreshments and spend time with fellow guests.

For further relaxation, adult hotel guests have access to the Blue Spa Wellness Centre. Its facilities include a hydromassage pool, sauna, hammam, thermal experiences and a peaceful relaxation area. Beauty treatments and a selection of therapeutic and relaxing massages are also available to book separately. Whether you choose a swim, a spa visit, a harbour stroll or a quiet moment in the garden, Mon Port provides a wonderfully restorative setting after a rewarding day of stitching.

To help you feel comfortable, prepared and ready to enjoy your time in beautiful Mallorca, we recommend packing the following essentials. October is generally warm and pleasant, although mornings, evenings and boat trips can feel cooler, so lightweight layers are advisable.

Embroidery Supplies
Please bring your preferred embroidery tools, such as scissors, needles, a thimble and any specialist equipment you enjoy using. Details of Alison Cole’s embroidery kit, which must be purchased separately, will be provided closer to the retreat. Magnifying lamps will be available in the workshop.

Lightweight Layers
Pack comfortable clothing suitable for warm days, together with cardigans, light jumpers or a jacket for cooler mornings and evenings. A lightweight waterproof jacket or compact umbrella may also be useful in case of occasional rain.

Sun Protection
Please bring sunscreen, sunglasses and a sun hat for the Palma excursion, free time around Port d’Andratx and the afternoon boat trip.

Comfortable Footwear
Pack comfortable, supportive shoes suitable for walking through Palma’s historic streets and exploring Port d’Andratx. Flat shoes with a secure, non-slip sole are recommended for the boat excursion.

Swimwear
Bring swimwear if you would like to use the hotel’s outdoor swimming pool or adult spa facilities. You may also wish to pack sandals or flip-flops and a lightweight cover-up.

Smart-Casual Clothing
Relaxed, smart-casual outfits are ideal for workshop days, group dinners and evenings at the hotel. You may also wish to bring a slightly smarter outfit for the farewell dinner.

European Travel Adapter
Please bring a European travel adapter for charging your telephone and other electrical equipment.

Camera or Smartphone
A camera or smartphone will be perfect for capturing the beautiful coastline, historic architecture, decorative details and special memories from the retreat.

Your Medication
Please pack any medication you will need for the duration of the retreat, with a little extra in case of unexpected travel delays.

Small Day Bag
A small, comfortable day bag will be useful for excursions and for carrying essentials such as your phone, purse, water bottle, sunscreen and personal belongings.

Space for Shopping
We recommend leaving a little extra room in your luggage for fabrics, threads, haberdashery supplies and other treasures purchased during the retreat.
Packing these items will help ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay, allowing you to focus fully on your embroidery, new friendships and the beauty of Mallorca.

Health and Accessibility

We want every guest to enjoy a safe, comfortable and rewarding experience during the Mallorca retreat. As the programme combines four and a half days of embroidery with cultural excursions, walking and a boat trip, we kindly ask guests to consider the following before booking.

The workshops involve extended periods of seated hand embroidery, with regular breaks throughout the day. Guests should be comfortable sitting and concentrating on detailed handwork for several hours. Magnifying lamps will be provided in the workshop.

Our Palma excursion will involve a considerable amount of walking. Routes may include cobbled streets, uneven pavements, steps and periods of standing during visits to Can Vivot, Palma Cathedral and local shops. Comfortable, supportive footwear is strongly recommended.

The boat excursion will require guests to board and leave the vessel using a gangway or steps. Movement may be affected by waves and changing sea conditions. Guests should be comfortable maintaining their balance and following the crew’s safety instructions.

October in Mallorca is generally warm and pleasant, but time in the sun can be tiring. Guests should bring sunscreen, a sun hat, sunglasses and water. A light jacket is recommended for cooler evenings and the boat trip.

The Mon Port Hotel & Spa lists accessibility among its available services. However, guests with limited mobility or specific accessibility requirements should contact us before booking so that we can confirm the suitability of the bedrooms, workshop space, transport and planned excursions.

Guests with mobility considerations, medical conditions, dietary requirements or other accessibility needs are strongly encouraged to speak with us before confirming their place.

While we will always do our utmost to support participation and explore reasonable adjustments, arrangements must remain practical within the planned itinerary and the needs of the wider group.

Alison is designing a new special Goldwork design for the Mallorca workshop!  It features a range of techniques and stitches used in Spanish embroidery - and the piece is stitched in predominantly Spanish threads - some of which you may not have used before!  The piece features a vase of flowers and foliage inspired by Spanish tiles and vestments and is worked on a silk background fabric that she purchased on her last trip to Spain.  

Alison is also offering a selection of other projects for you to choose from, including Cleo, Stuart Treasure, Dragonfly Opulence and Little Green Bug.

Cancellation shall take effect only when Creative Experiences receives written notification from the person confirming the booking. All correspondence should be addressed to Creative Experiences, 55 Westfield Avenue, Cupar, Fife, KY15 5AA, United Kingdom or by email to info@creative-experiences. In all cases of cancellation, the deposit forfeit. The following cancellation fees expressed, as a percentage of the total holiday cost, will become immediately payable to Creative Experiences.

Cancellation charge:

Cancellation within 8 weeks; 40% of holiday cost payable

Cancellation within 7 weeks; 60% of holiday cost payable

Cancellation within 6 weeks; 80% of holiday cost payable

Cancellation within 4 weeks; 100% of holiday cost payable

Emergencies

Your safety and wellbeing are very important to us. If you need help during your holiday, our team will be on hand to assist—whether that means helping you access local healthcare, contacting authorities, or guiding you through the process if your passport or important documents are lost.

In the rare case that extra costs arise from situations linked to personal negligence (for example, missed transfers or additional bookings), these may need to be covered by the guest.

Conduct

We want every retreat to be an enjoyable and supportive experience for all. We simply ask that all guests treat one another, our tutors, and our staff with kindness and respect.

If any damage occurs at our partner hotels or venues, the guest responsible will be asked to cover the costs directly. In very rare circumstances, where someone’s behaviour endangers others or causes serious distress, Creative Experiences reserves the right to withdraw their place from the retreat.

Please rest assured, we have never had to enforce these measures—they exist purely to ensure that everyone enjoys a safe, welcoming, and inspiring holiday together.
