An Autumn Embroidery Retreat in Mallorca
We are very excited to be travelling to Mallorca with the wonderful embroidery tutor Alison Cole for a special autumn week of stitching, sunshine and time together.
Alison will teach for four and a half days, with 27 hours of embroidery tuition during the retreat. There will be plenty of time to work on your project, develop your skills and enjoy learning in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
Alison will offer demonstrations, advice and individual guidance throughout the week, helping each guest make steady progress with their embroidery. The retreat is also a lovely opportunity to meet other stitchers, share ideas and enjoy time with friends old and new.
Our home for the week will be the four-star Mon Port Hotel & Spa in Port d’Andratx, on the southwest coast of Mallorca. The hotel is surrounded by the foothills of the Serra de Tramuntana and is close to the Mediterranean Sea.
The hotel has a peaceful Mallorcan atmosphere, with comfortable rooms, terraces, gardens and an outdoor swimming pool. Adult hotel guests can also enjoy access to the Blue Spa Wellness Centre.
October is a lovely time to visit Mallorca. The weather is usually pleasantly warm, making it a wonderful place to stitch, relax and explore.
During the retreat, we will enjoy a full-day excursion to Palma by private transfer.
Our first visit will be to Can Vivot, one of Palma’s beautiful historic manor houses. Here, we will have the opportunity to see the elegant courtyard, period interiors, furnishings and decorative arts of this special aristocratic home.
We will then explore Palma on foot, walking through the old quarter, historic squares and characterful streets. There will be plenty to see along the way, including carved stonework, colourful tiles, ironwork and other decorative details.
We will also visit Palma’s magnificent cathedral, La Seu. Its Gothic architecture, stained glass and famous rose windows make it one of the most impressive buildings in Mallorca.
There will also be time to browse some of Palma’s fabric and haberdashery shops, where you may find threads, ribbons, notions and other special treasures to take home.
This retreat will be a lovely combination of embroidery, relaxation, Mallorcan culture and warm autumn weather.
