Kate Barlow in Montreal, Canada | 1st to 8th May 2027

We are very excited to be travelling to Montréal for the first time with the wonderful textile artist Kate Barlow.

This brand-new retreat will be part of our Creative Experiences collection and will combine embroidery, culture, history and time to enjoy one of Canada’s most beautiful and creative cities.

Kate is a very warm and generous teacher and she enjoys helping everyone develop their own ideas. Whether you have stitched with Kate before or this is your first class with her, she will support you throughout the week and help you build confidence in your embroidery.

We will stay for seven nights at the Hampton by Hilton Montréal Downtown. The hotel is in a very good location for exploring the historic streets, cafés, galleries and different neighbourhoods of Montréal.

During the retreat, we will also enjoy two special excursions.

We will visit the McCord Stewart Museum, which has an important collection of historic costume, fashion and textiles. We think this will be a wonderful visit for anyone who loves embroidery, textiles and design.

We will also visit the beautiful Notre-Dame Basilica. The interior is full of colour, decoration and craftsmanship and we are sure it will offer lots of inspiration. We are also planning to visit Canadian haberdashery shops and galleries during our time in the city.

Most meals are included and there will be plenty of time to enjoy meals together, talk about embroidery and get to know the rest of the group. We will also give you a warm welcome at the airport, with optional transfers available.

The group will be small, with only 15 guests, which gives everyone plenty of time with Kate and creates the friendly atmosphere that is so important on our retreats.

We hope you will join us for this very special first retreat in Montréal. It will be a lovely week of embroidery, inspiration, sightseeing and time spent with friends old and new.
