Join internationally acclaimed embroidery artist Kate Barlow for an unforgettable week of stitching, inspiration and cultural discovery in the heart of Marrakesh. From 3rd to 10th March 2026, this Creative Experiences retreat blends four full days (24 hours) of expert embroidery tuition with curated excursions that celebrate the rich artistic heritage of Morocco.

Our base for the week is the stylish Radisson Blu Hotel, Marrakech Carré Eden, a 5-star hotel ideally located in the city’s vibrant Gueliz district. Enjoy contemporary comfort, excellent amenities, and a beautiful light-filled studio space with floor-to-ceiling windows—perfect for detailed hand embroidery and creative focus.

Kate’s unique teaching style and refined techniques will guide you through a thoughtfully developed embroidery project over four days, giving you time to learn, create, and connect with like-minded textile enthusiasts in an inspiring setting.

Beyond the studio, we’ll explore Marrakesh’s dynamic spirit. Wander through the famous Souks on a guided tour highlighting the city’s traditional crafts and exquisite textiles. About The Host

Kate Barlow

Kate Barlow

Kate Barlow is a master embroiderer known for her artistry, warmth, and world-class teaching. A graduate of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, she began her creative career in costume design before transitioning into the world of fine embroidery.

Kate trained at the prestigious Royal School of Needlework, graduating with distinction and multiple awards, including the Elizabeth Elvin Goldwork Award and Merchant Taylors Company Outstanding Achievement Award. Her celebrated silk shaded budgie “Smuggler” was even exhibited at the Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition.

Today, Kate teaches widely across the UK, Europe, and North America and has collaborated with respected organisations including the Crewelwork Company, Needlework Tours, and the Embroiderers’ Guild of America. She also had the great honour of contributing to several historic pieces for the Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla, including the Queen’s Robe of Estate and the Anointing Screen.

With her deep knowledge, approachable teaching style, and boundless enthusiasm, Kate makes every class both educational and inspiring—perfect for stitchers of all levels.
