Lucy Martin’s Tuscan Embroidery Retreat 12th – 19th May 2026 - Lucca, Italy

Join one of the UK’s most exciting young embroiderers, Lucy Martin, for a week of creative immersion and inspiration in the rolling hills of Tuscany.

Hosted by Creative Experiences, this exclusive retreat includes 4.5 days of expert tuition (27 hours) with Lucy, where you’ll explore her unique embroidery techniques and artistic approach in a relaxed, supportive setting.

We’ll stay at the elegant Hotel Villa La Principessa, a former 13th-century villa just outside Lucca, now a welcoming hotel known for its traditional character, bold fabric wall coverings, and warm, friendly service.

Your time in the studio will be beautifully balanced with two carefully curated excursions. We’ll enjoy a full-day visit to the stunning hilltop town of San Gimignano, famed for its medieval towers, where you’ll enjoy a long lunch and time to explore (with a gelato stop, of course!). On another day, we’ll spend a relaxing afternoon in Lucca, wandering the cobbled streets of the historic walled city before gathering for a group dinner in the atmospheric Piazza dell'Anfiteatro.

This retreat offers the perfect blend of creativity, cultural discovery, and camaraderie—an unmissable opportunity to learn from Lucy in the heart of Italy.
