Golden Blooms: 3D Goldwork Embroidery Retreat with Hannah Mansfield 27th Sept – 2nd Oct 2026

Step into the golden hues of autumn with this unique six-day retreat led by Hannah Mansfield, one of the UK’s most exciting young embroidery artists. Set within the tranquil grounds of Murrayshall Country Estate, this creative getaway blends luxury, inspiration, and expert tuition in a breathtaking Scottish setting.

Across the retreat, Hannah will teach you how to create a sculptural floral brooch using her signature 3D goldwork embroidery techniques—shared for the first time in a face-to-face class. You’ll discover how to apply and manipulate goldwork wires like pearl purl to build rich textures and layers, transforming traditional embroidery into three-dimensional art.

Hannah is internationally recognised for her innovative style and youthful approach to hand embroidery, with accolades including the Hand & Lock Prize and high-profile teaching engagements across the UK. This retreat offers an unparalleled opportunity to learn directly from one of the leading voices in contemporary goldwork.

Midweek, enjoy a change of pace with a relaxing afternoon excursion to Scone Palace. After lunch at the hotel, we’ll depart for a private guided tour of the historic royal site followed by a light refreshment. We’ll return to Murrayshall in the early evening for dinner—no stitching that night, just time to unwind and reflect.

With generous studio time, fine food, and a small group of like-minded creatives, this is the perfect chance to immerse yourself in the beauty of embroidery and autumn in Scotland.
