Golden Blooms: 3D Goldwork Embroidery Retreat with Hannah Mansfield 27th Sept – 2nd Oct 2026

Step into the golden hues of autumn with this unique six-day retreat led by Hannah Mansfield, one of the UK’s most exciting young embroidery artists. Now hosted at the grand Crieff Hydro Hotel in the heart of Perthshire, this creative escape combines luxury, inspiration, and expert tuition in a spectacular Scottish setting.

Throughout the retreat, Hannah will guide you through the creation of a sculptural floral brooch using her award-winning 3D goldwork embroidery techniques—shared for the first time in an in-person setting. You’ll explore how to apply and shape goldwork wires like pearl purl to build rich textures and striking three-dimensional forms.

Hannah’s innovative, contemporary approach to traditional embroidery has earned her international recognition, including the Hand & Lock Prize and high-profile teaching roles. This is a rare opportunity to learn directly from one of the most dynamic young voices in the embroidery world.

Midway through the week, we’ll take a break from stitching for a relaxing afternoon excursion to nearby Scone Palace. After lunch at the hotel, guests will enjoy a private guided tour of this historic royal site followed by light refreshments, before returning to Crieff Hydro for a relaxed evening and dinner—no stitching that night.

With expert-led studio sessions, elegant surroundings, and a warm, welcoming group, this retreat promises creativity, connection, and calm in the heart of autumnal Scotland.
