About

About The Host

Jenny is originally from Derbyshire, England. She has been practising her love of embroidery since childhood, learning from a family with an inherent passion for a broad range of craft skills.

Jenny was exhaustively trained as a professional embroiderer on the prestigious three year Apprenticeship at the Royal School of Needlework, Hampton Court Palace, graduating with distinction in 1999 and winning the school’s prizes for silk shading and Coronation Goldwork.

Having developed and managed her own business concurrently with her RSN work since 2002, Jenny embarked on her freelance career in 2008. She continues to teach at the RSN but also teaches a broad range of techniques throughout the UK and beyond, completing teaching tours in Australia, New Zealand, the USA, Canada and India. She has been teaching for Creative Experiences in France for many years.

Jenny works to commission, producing a diverse range of new work, together with the repair of antique textiles. Her work has included playing a key role in the RSN team which produced all of the applied lace panels for the Duchess of Cambridge’s famed royal wedding dress and contributing to the regalia for HM King Charles I and HM Queen Camilla at the coronation.

She also designs and produces an ever increasing range of unique embroidery kits, in stumpwork, metal thread, Elizabethan and whitework embroidery, closely inspired by historical techniques.
