Trained at the prestigious Royal School of Needlework and graduating with First Class Honours in Hand Embroidery, Lucy Martin is a London-based embroidery artist celebrated for her exquisite craftsmanship and creative versatility. Raised in the rolling hills of the Peak District, Lucy’s passion for stitching began in early childhood, helping her mother sew wedding dresses—an experience that laid the foundation for a remarkable career in bespoke embroidery.

Lucy’s work spans fashion, art, and heritage restoration, and she has created hand-embroidered pieces for an extraordinary range of clients, including Alexander McQueen, Burberry, and Jasper Conran. Her embroidery has graced the wardrobes of global icons such as Beyoncé and Brian May, and she has had the rare honour of creating work for the British Royal Family.

A recipient of multiple international embroidery awards, Lucy is also a passionate educator. She currently plays a leading role in shaping the future of embroidery as the head of the Hand & Lock School, where she supports the growth and success of emerging talent in the craft.
